Iwokrama New Staff Members

Anne Marie Ford
Senior Professional Development Fellow (attached to Business Development and Management)

Upon completion of her Master of Science Degree in Natural Resource and Environmental Management at the University of the West Indies, Anne Marie joined the Professional Development Fellowship Programme of the Centre in September 2005. Currently working in the Business Development Unit, she brings to the Centre great creativity and a working knowledge of Coastal and Marine Resource Management especially aimed at contributing to sustainable use and management of natural resources in the Caribbean.

Anand Roopsind
Junior Professional Development Fellow (attached to Forest Conservation and Management)

Attached to the Monitoring and Training Department of the Centre, Anand has been engaged in field monitoring and assessment, timber certification workshops and tourism since he joined the Centre in October 2005. Previously employed with the Guyana Forestry Commission, he brings with him a wide array of skills including RIL Training, Econometrics, monitoring and inventory analysis.

Damian Fernandes
Senior Professional Development Fellow (attached to Forest Conservation and Management)

We welcomed Damian back to the Centre in October 2005 after completing his Master’s Degree in Natural Resource Management at the University of Manitoba. Previously attached to the Wildlife Unit as a Research Assistant, Damian has acquired a great deal of field experience working with projects such as Arapaima Conservation in the North Rupununi, Caiman, Bird, Bat and Primate Surveys and the National Wildlife Surveys for the EPA. Damian brings to the Centre a sharp mind and growing knowledge of effective natural resource management.
