Joining the team as the Training Assistant, Floria is no stranger to Iwokrama. In 2004, Floria was certified as an Iwokrama Ranger and worked whole heartedly with the programme for one year. During this year at Iwokrama, she engaged in monitoring of Phenology transects, wildlife monitoring along the Iwokrama Road Corridor and assisted with tourism activities. Her knowledge of fauna and flora of Guyana served |
| her well in her last employ as a Tour Guide for the Kaieteur/ Orinduik expeditions. Additionally, Floria has also guided tour groups through Fort Island, Saxacalli and Bartica, as well as assisted in the gathering of data for numerous biodiversity studies. We wish her well in her new job and hope that she will gain as much from us was we are gaining from her expertise. | |

Iwokrama welcomed a Driver/ Expeditor to its ranks in June. Previously attached to Conservation International, Kelvin has driven extensively in Guyana’s interior and is quite familiar with the inner workings of driving along ever changing forest trails. With the skills acquired through 10 years of training and service in the GDF and National Service, Kevlin brings with him the discipline needed to be a effective and cautious employee of the Centre.
