Surama Junior Wildlife Club members in their costume depicting the community and it’s social and environmental aspects, including Surama Pond, the Ecolodge and a harpy eagle presiding over it all.

First place winners for costume, Wowetta Junior Wildlife Club, representing their ecotourism initiative to a cock of the rock lek.  The girls are dressed in brown, the boys in orange, they carried a sign in Makushi text explaining their costume; and the cock of the rock itself danced as they walked along.

There were over 282 youths at this year’s festival, making it one of the largest ever!  Here participants attend the opening ceremony.
