The rainy season was in full effect over the past couple of months as visitors and staff alike at the Iwokrama River Lodge witnessed the river continually rise. Please see pictures below.
And with the rain came many new animals moving about after the forest started to flood. Several snakes ( including anacondas), pumas, and a plethora of frogs have all been seen in and around the River Lodge.

The Iwokrama River Lodge continued to offer excellent wildlife viewing opportunities in a pristine rainforest environment this past month! We had several sightings of a Harpy Eagle near our Turtle Mountain Satellite Camp. This enormous and beautiful “Iwokrama Giant” can often be very difficult to see, so guests and staff alike were all excited. We also welcomed a team of local artists who painted a mural in our outdoor patio. The design is based on the rainforest and offers visitors a glimpse into the spectacular local art.
As the rainy season starts to arrive, don’t forget to check out the 30% discount we are offering all customers at Iwokrama from May 1st – July 31st! Be sure to take advantage of this great offer and come experience the beautiful rainforest of Guyana!
